Saturday Sketch time

hi there again, Wow this is my second post of the day, that doesn't happen too often. Today I made a card using Lauren's saturday sketch. The set i used is called Angel Sent and it is from CTMH and is totally brand new. But since the new book goes live on Monday i thought i would give you a sneak peak. for the background i tried to sponge some clouds using my cloud template (need a little more practice, i think) on my little angels i used my gold gelly roll glitter pen and colored in the wings and traced the halo. on their dresses i used my glue pen and colored them in and used my prisma glitter so they would have sparkle. although as you can see, what i need are camera classes because i can never get the sparkle and shimmer to show through in my pictures. and this card is full of sparkle. even the ribbon i used on the side sparkles and is the kind that you can bend and it stays put. (gotta love that)The message in the middle reads "Angels sent from above, please protect the ones we love".

Well that's it for today, i hope you all have a safe and wonderful labor day weekend.

Autumn leaves layout

Happy Saturday Everyone! Today i have a scrapbook layout to show you. Now this layout was intended to be a card for Amy Rysavy's friday sketch #27, but after i stamped, colored, cut out, and matted the bear It was going to end up being one big card so i decided to continue on and make an autumn layout. It's not like i don't have pictures right? I've been making so many cards that i put off making pages so it feels good to have a page to add to my album. So i know you all expected to see a card but i still wanted to post this because it does use amy's sketch and i wanted to giver her credit. So remember scrapbookers, just because it's a card sketch doesn't mean you can't make a scrapbook page out of it. Now on to the details- I stamped out two of my bears and cut out the leaf on one-colored , crumpled, and pop dotted him to the other bears head. for the flowers on the bottom i used one of my die cut flowers that came in three sizes. I traced them on colored cardstock, crumpled them, carefully unflolded them so they didn't tear. i layered each flower on top of one another and put a bigger brad in the middle to hold them all together. I then got my die cut for the leaf traced it, cut it out and used my crimper to give it texture. So there you go, crumpled texture flowers.
Well i hope teddy brings a smile to your face and i'm glad i got to share my autumn layout with you today. Have a great rest of your day!

ATS Wednesday Challenge/card scents

Hi there everyone, hope you're having a wonderful wednesday. I finally got my challenge card for ATS done. now you're probably saying christmas already? well the challenge was using card scents so i used the Gel-A-Tin's Santa's candy cane scented gelly powder. i just applied this the same way i do embossing powder. On this card i used it on the candy cane that lulu is holding. I just love the smell of candy canes. the stamp sets i used for this card were Lulu's sweet delights and Lucky's christmas wish by C.C.Designs. the candy stamps are from ctmh. I also added prisma glitter to my candy to give it some sparkle but it doesn't show up that great. Well i'm off to go finish making wedding invitations for my BFF's sister, i just wanted to stop and play for awhile. I hope you all have a great night and thanks for looking.

Treat yourself to a wonderful day

Happy Monday everyone! Today is the House Mouse Monday challenge #2-Lace It Up. For this challenge we are to use lace, paper lace or even a shoe lace. The lace on my card is paper lace that i sponged oak brown ink on to give it color. I have had this paper lace for over 5 years and everytime i looked at it i thought i will never use this, but could not get myself to throw it away or even give it away! well mark this day on my calendar, i actually found a reason to use it. see ladies you never know when you will need something you think you have no use for right now so, SAVE IT!! lol. anyway hope you all enjoy this little mouse. Have a great night.

whatchadoin wednesday challenge/sparkles

The challenge for today at Storage Units, Ink and more was to make a card with sparkle. I stamped my butterfly and added different shades of glitter to it. It looks way much better in real life. not too much glitz in the picture. Hope you enjoy it. Have a great evening and thanks for looking.

ATS Wednesday Challenge

Happy Wednesday everybody! I made this card for the All That Scraps Challenge. I used the Itzie Inkies stamp set BEAR HUGS by C.C. Designs. This is such a cute set. This set also includes two of the cutest bears and sentiments. I don't know if this little bee was given a name yet but
my little girl just named him buzzybee so thats what i will call him. I scored the black panel with lines to go with the black lines on buzzy. I also used my gold glitter pen to make his little wings sparkle. hope you all enjoy buzzy as much as i did. Thanks for stopping bye!

Saturday Sketch/ brewhaha

Yay! It's
saturday which means another saturday sketch with Lauren. I really like to do sketch challenges they are so much fun. I really liked this one, it was different. Great job Lauren. I did flip the sketch around so that it would fit with the direction of my witch. As soon as i saw the big circle in the middle i immediately thought of the moon, which made me think of halloween and witches flying and well it went on from there. I made the moon out of glossy paper and with a cotton ball smeared three different colors of ink on it to give it that sinister look. I stamped and cut out my witch and pop dotted her flying in front of the moon. I cut a piece of black cardstock and embossed the web with my cuttlebug and web embossing folder so my spider hanging in the corner would have a place to scurry to. My cardstock has a white core so i was able to sand the web so it can be seen better. Well that's it for today hope you all have a great Saturday!

Friday's sketchers sketch #15

Super Emily!

Happy Friday Everyone! Now those of you who are familiar with Pink Cat Studio Stamps are probably saying "isn't this Lily?" Well it is, When you order from the site however for a very small fee you have the option to change her name on the header of the packaging, so thats what i did. so now these are dress up Emily stamps. And boy does she know it. I inked her up for the first time yesterday and right away she got excited saying that i was going to make a card with her on it. She's going around showing this card to everyone saying "look mommy made me into a supergirl."
You may also be saying but i don't remember there being a supergirl, well i made her using the Billy set. I took super billy and covered his head and stamped his body then i covered emily's body and using my place a stamp tool i stamped her head, i stamped super billy's head on a scrap paper and cut out his mask and glued it onto emily's face and ta da you have supergirl. I honestly didn't think it would work or look that great but you would never know she didn't come that way. Of course i gave her girly colors and used a glitter pen for her hair ties, mask, cape and belt. I'm so excited with the way she turned out, i can't wait to experiment with her some more. Thanks for stopping by, Hope you have a great day!

Another Oldie

Well in keeping up with my challenge, i dug deep and found this cute little girl i picked up at my first rubber stamp expo about 8 years ago. Can you believe its been 8 years and this was the first time it was inked up, how bad is that! After i took her out of the drawer i looked at her and thought what am i supposed to do with her? She was more of a how cute is she purchase than an i can use her in alot of ways purchase. you know the kind right? Anyway, the size of this card is 4.25x5.5 and opens from the top, i cut the front of the card about 2inches up and added a panel to the middle longer than the card front but not quite as long as the bottom of the card. if that makes any sense whatsoever. I crimped a small panel and added it to the middle panel cut out my little girl and added her to the top. I stamped a fan and tried to fold it the way a real fan would look, i think it turned out okay. I added some glitter to her hair ties and the flowers on her outfit to add some sparkle. This is one of those cards that looks better in real life because you can't see the sparkle or the folds in the fan very well in the picture. All in all i liked the turnout. I hope you enjoy it. Have a great day!

Miss You

Yesterday was such a GREAT day! We got a visit from one of my cousins that i hadn't seen in 2 years. She also brought with her my other cousin's 5 kids, so my girls were in heaven and we were so thrilled to have them here. Even though they were only here a few hours we squeezed in a BBQ, rode the go-karts and 4 wheelers, the kids got wet and played till they wore themselves out! We had so much fun but it was so sad to see them go. When i was making this card and was picking out a sentiment i saw the miss you and instantly thought of them and decided i was going to send them this card.

Birds of a feather

I made this card for the Pink Cat Studio September Guest Designer challenge found here: http://pinkcatstudio.blogspot.com/2008/08/dawns-design-team-challenge.html the challenge was to make a card using fabric. When i saw these cute owls with the flowers in their hats i new i wanted to do something with flowers. so this is what i came up with.

I used my flower punch and punched my cardstock . using the negative part of the flower i glued my button to the middle of the flower. I got my material and placed it behind my flower and with tweezers i pulled the material through each petal. I used my coluzzle and cut a circle through my card then went one size up and made a frame from cardstock and added it over the top of my circle. then i placed my flower panel through the frame. I added some sparkles around the frame to tie in the sparkles i used on my owls hats.

Card Organizer

Awhile back i found this cute little card organizer complete with video tutorial so of course i just had to try it. you can find it here: ://danniesdesigns.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/04/card-keeper-tut.html i will say that these are quite time consuming,at least for me, but i've always loved the end result, so i feel its worth it. I've also found that if you want a real cute gift box this is perfect just add a gift some tissue and there you have it. perfect little gift or shall i say two gifts. I love when my friends love the packaging as much as the gift.

Here is a close up of the card organizer. instead of a ribbon handle i made mine out of cardstock so it would stand up by itself. i just attached it to the top of the box with eyelets. I also used basic greys large magnets to keep the organizer shut. but i've also used velcro dots, just as good. Have a great day and thanks for looking.

Go Bananas

I just love foam dots they add so much dimension to my cards. now that being said i would have to say i went a little foam dot crazy on this card. because i crinkled my background paper i raised the panel with eyelets with foam dots. i also popped up some of the tree leaves. then of course i HAD to pop up my little monkey friend i stamped him again cut out his face and feet and raised those with foam dots also. you may not be able to tell so much in the picture but there are quite a bit of layers going on on this card. I really like the way it came out though. This sketch was provided by Kimmie from Canada at Friday sketchers. Thanks Kimmie!
