another card-a-lope

Well i promised you would be seeing more of these card-a-lopes (tutorial found here) quite a few birthdays these next few months. I needed to make one for a boy so i decided to use the C.C. Designs "Eric and Chrissy go prehistoric." I used Basic Grey's Archaic pattern paper for the background it just goes together so well it was like it was made for this set. I stamped the dinosaur, bird and tree and cut them out and pop dotted them onto my main panel, so there is alot of dimension going on here. For the inside i used the mosaic embossing folder to give my panel some texture. Well i sure hope he likes it.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a GREAT night!!

HM&F Challenge #14

Happy Friday Everyone!! This week's House Mouse & Friends challenge #14 is All About Christmas. So i used these cute little mice all tangled up in Christmas lights. They so remind me of myself when i used to have to untangle my lights before i put them on my tree. lol. Anyway, for this card instead of adding a Christmas tree i used a pattern paper from Basic Grey with trees all over. The sentiment is a little hard to see, but it says:"Trim the tree, light the lights, Christmas time is just in sight."
Well just a short post for today, i PLAN on getting some more challenges done this weekend, but lets see what happens. Thanks for the visit and i hope you all have a GREAT friday.

Sweet baby card

I just love this little bear from C.C. Designs, i seem to always be reaching for him. or shall i say in this case her. I love the color combination of browns and pinks and polka dots are just icing on the cake. For this card i stamped my little bear, colored him with my prismacolor pencils and oms. The blocks belonged to a sticker border i just cut them off and added them in front with pop dots. For the background i used my swiss dots embossing folder, but instead of having the dots coming outward i turned it over i guess making it looked pierced, or not i don't know i just wanted a different look. lol. I think this would make a cute baby card for either a shower or a birthday, don't you think?

Well this is going to be a short post for tonight. Thank you for stopping by, I love it when you visit!! Have a Great night!

Christmas Fairy/ATS DT challenge #26

This weeks challenge for All That Scraps Design Team Challenge #26 is a Christmas Card showcase. The challenge is to make a Christmas card that could be easily mass produced. For this card i used the C.C. Designs Digi download Angels Everywhere. On the download they come with halos so they are angels but since i cut her out and pop dotted her to my matt i left out the halo and made her into a fairy. I used my Deck The Halls acrylic stamp set from CTMH, stamped, colored and cut out the poinsetta and pop dotted it to her hands. I added glitter to her bow, skirt, and poinsetta and also added clear sparkles to the inside of the flower. so lots of sparkle going on IRL. This is also the other card i sent in to our LSS Christmas card contest. There are quite a few little angels in this download so lots more cards coming using them. They are just too cute to put down. Be sure to check out the All That Scraps Gallery for more Christmas card samples. The DT did a great job, lots of inspiration there if you need ideas. I hope you all have a great night, thanks for stopping by i sure appreciate you taking the time to take a look.

Jolly O'l Saint Nick

Our stamp group got invited by our LSS to participate in a Christmas card contest with the prizes being gift certificates to her store, Hey turn down a chance to win free paper and embellishments? ya right! So i'm giving it a go and if they don't win, then it was a good excuse to put aside the laundry for a bit to stamp-lol. for this card i tried to keep the layout simple. I used the Magic and Wonder set from SU! ( i just love Santa) after i colored him in i added lots of sparkle on his suit. I'm hoping to post the other card this afternoon. Thanks so much for stopping and taking a look. Have a Wonderful day!!!

Friends make Life Blossom

Good Morning!! I made this card for Amy Rysavy's Friday Sketch #36. For this card i used Amy's new set Build a Holiday for the flower pot and stems of the flowers. I'm really having fun with this set, i'm challenging myself to find more ways to use it other than for the holidays. I paperpieced the flowers for my pot, added some colored rhinestones to the centers and pop dotted them to the stems. I matted my image and adhered it to my base card. I used my embossing folder for the background and used a punch for the 3 flowers in the circles. I added my sentiment and it's finished. Pretty simple card, but i really like how it came out. This is such a neat sketch amy came up with, i so encourage you all to try it. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a Wonderful rest of your day!!!

House of Mouse & Friends ~junk Challenge

For this weeks HM&F challenge #13 we were supposed to use something on our card that we found in our junk drawer. Well with all the junk in my drawer i didn't really have anything that would work with the HM images i have until i ran across a bottle of expired aspirin. (YIKES!) of coarse i proceeded to throw it in the trash and continue to figure out what to use for the challenge. As i was going through my images,(for the 10th time) i came across this image and thought about the bottle i just threw out. I grabbed the bottle out of the trash, pulled the cotton out and wahlah(???) this card came to life. Hey, i did find it in the junk drawer first-that should count right?lol.

For this card i stamped the image and then stamped the aspirin bottle image again. I cut it out, colored and added it to my main image with dimensionals. I gave my ice cube some color and added some liquid glass to give it more of a melting ice cube look. i matted my image and adhered it to my embossed base card, added my sentiment and bandaid and done. the bandaid has nothing to do with this image but it was so cute i just had to use it. Okay, i can hear the "enough already"-that is if you are still reading. I hope these two bring a smile to your face like they do me. Thanks for Looking and Have a Wonderful Day!!

Happy Holidays!

This weeks fabulous Friday Sketch #27 is from Kristine from Norway. For this card i used CTMH's Merry Pursuits acrylic set. I covered my base card with CTMH's Evensong collection creative basics dp and embossed a square of white cardstock with my D'vine swirls embossing folder, tore diagonally and placed on the corners of my card. I sponged them with cranberry ink to give them a bit of color. and added my ribbon. For my image i stamped one of the elves and random stamped some snowflakes around him. I used SU!'s chunky white glitter (first time i used it-love it) to give his snowman some sparkle. I matted on cranberry cardstock and adhered him to my card. The Happy Holidays circle stamp is from SU's Riveting set. I punched it and the green mat out with my circle punches, i then got a white snowflake eyelet and added to the middle of the sentiment but didn't like how it looked so i got a silver snowflake brad and added it on top of the eyelet and it actually ended up looking pretty neat so i left it that way. Well i'm off to get some chores done and get to work on another challenge card and hopefully get it posted today. Thanks so much for stopping by and Have A GREAT day!!!

Happy Birthday Card-a-lope w/tutorial

Julie wrote up an awesome tutorial for her card-a-lope on
her blog Paper Pleasing Ideas. I just think these card-a-lopes are absolutely adorable!! I will so be making more of these. I have 2 of my Goddaughters birthdays just around the corner and they're both teenagers so since i don't shop for teenagers, i'm sure they'll be thrilled with cash plus they get a little something from the heart too. so just click on the link above and visit julie's blog for the tutorial, it's so simple and a lot of fun
to make and i'm sure you'll love it, so give it a try. Thanks so much Julie for sharing your tutorial with us. Have a GREAT day everyone!!!

I apologize for the other picture coming at the end of the post, i can't get it to cooperate.

Rub a dub dub -a cutie in the tub

I finally inked up My Rubber Ducky stamp set from c.c. designs that was spending too much time in a drawer uninked. I really liked the way it came out, seeing as how it almost ended up in the wastebasket. For the bubbles i used different sized pearls from SU! pretties kit. for the lather i used liquid applique. When i saw this martha stewart dp i instantly thought of bubbles so i thought this image would go perfectly. I cut out some of the circles from the dp to act as bubbles floating about the card. I did use the doodle alphabet from ctmh for the rub a dub dub inside the bubbles. the one that comes with the set was too small for what i had in mind. i added prisma glitter around the floating bubbles and pop dotted them to my card. Well i hope you all have a great weekend and i hope to post more throughout the weekend (fingers crossed) so i hope you stop back again.

Merry Pursuits

Okay so i can't put this paper away, Once again i used the Evensong Creative Basics dp for this ornament card. to make the card i folded my cardstock and used my circle coluzzle to cut out a circle, leaving a small piece on the side uncut. I cut out the same size circle from my dp and adhered it to my card. I used the round tab punch from SU! for the ornament top and adhered it to the inside of my card. The cutie little elf i used is from my new CTMH set "Merry Pursuits." I added a little jingle bell onto his hat for that musical touch or to annoy those around the recipient of this card.lol I think it turned out rather well. I just might be making a couple of these to give out for Christmas. Well thats all for today. I thank you all for stopping by.

All Decked Out

I Finally got to play with my November Stamp of the Month from Close To My Heart "All Decked Out." This is such a cute set, its a build your own snowman set-so much fun. I don't know about you but when i think of snow i think of hot cocoa, so i decided to use one of Lauren Meader's -Timeless Templates music Makeover and fill it with a couple of cocoa packets. I put together my template and covered it with creative basics evensong collection dp. i added a scalloped edge and ribbon to the front flap. I stamped my paper pieced my snowmans scarf and hat with the same dp and paper pieced his gloves with cranberry cardstock. I built my snowman, sponged the sides of my image with crystal blue ink and stamped some snowflakes. i pierced some of the snow flourishes and added round sparkles randomly throughout the snow flourishes and matted my image onto cranberry cardstock , pierced the edges and added my sentiment. I adhered it to the front flap being sure to only stick the top and using velcro on the bottom to keep it shut. so there you have it a cute, simple little gift. I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for looking:)

House Mouse & Friends Challenge #12-a Recipe

This weeks HM&F challenge was a Recipe. We had to be sure we used ribbon, 2x buttons, felt, and a scalloped edge. My felt item is kind of hard to see but it's the little ladybug felt sticker on the knot of my bow. (click on picture for better look) Okay, well this is my second post of the day so i think i will call it quits until tomorrow. I thank you for looking and hope you have a good night!

Happy Tuesday! Here's a card i made using another image from Sweet 'n Sassy's "Child of God" set. I said it once and i'll say it again, this is such a precious set. I tried to make this card a little more elegant and i think it would work great for a younger girl making her First Holy Communion or an older girl making her Confirmation. I so wish i had this set earlier this year when my daughter made her First Holy Communion. Well, thank you so much for stopping by and have a Great Day!!!

one card / two challenges

Okay, since i'm running short on time to get my House of Mouse & friends challenge #11 card done before tomorrow's new challenge, i combined it with Friday's Sketchers sketch #26. This awesome sketch is from Jacqueline from the netherlands. The challenge for House of Mouse & friends was "that natural feeling." I really like how this card turned out, i only wish my image was bigger. Well, i thank you for stopping by, have a great night!!

Sending Christmas Wishes

Today's card was made for Amy Rysavy's friday sketch #34. I used one of Sweet 'n Sassy's October releases "Christmas Cheer" isn't this puppy just a cutie peeking out from this stocking? The only part of this stamp that i colored was the puppy, everything else was paper pieced. I just love paper piecing with this set because you can make so many different looks with the stockings. This set also comes with a kitten in a stocking and some sentiments. If you would like to try this sketch just click on the link above. This was such a fun sketch (thanks Amy) i'm sure i will be using it again. I hope you all enjoy and have a wonderful day!!! thanks so much for looking.
